Flood Insurance. Are you prepared?

Floods are historically one of the most frequent, destructive and costly natural hazards in Texas,1 with approximately 400 floods occurring annually,2  and about 25% of flood claims coming from moderate to low risk areas. With this said, it might be a good idea to consider protecting your home and belongings from flood waters.

It's very likely that your home, renters, or business policy does not cover flood damage and since it is provided by the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), it's the same price wherever you go. There is typically a 30-day waiting period so it's a good idea to purchase coverage ahead of time.
